Time Machine

Each panel shows the revision that was in effect at the end of the day you picked. A day with no revision behind it shows no record values at all, and nothing on the screen is ever compared against the record as it stands now. A day it cannot prove is refused rather than filled in from today's record.

It is read only, and a banner above the panels says so. There is no control that changes a record and no way to save a past revision back over the current one.

Choose a record type, choose the record, and set two calendar days, neither later than today. The two pickers are interchangeable: whichever holds the earlier day becomes the earlier panel, so a comparison always reads forwards in time.

Beneath the panels, what changed in between names each field that differs, whether it was added, cleared or changed, and both values. Copying a link reopens the Time Machine on the same record and the same two days.

A revision says when Growth-OS learned something, not when it became true. A company that changed platform on the first of the month and was edited on the eighteenth is indistinguishable here from one that changed on the eighteenth.

A day ends in UTC, and the instants beside each revision are shown in UTC too, so no reader's own timezone can move a revision into a neighbouring day. One read loads the most recent 200 revisions; when older ones exist the page says the limit was reached and days before that are reported as unavailable rather than guessed.

The reconstruction covers Growth-OS records. It does not pin the external sources, the model versions or the metric definitions a past decision also rested on, and the page says so at the foot.

When there is no answer, the reason is named and the sentence stops there: the project does not hold the record, no revision was ever recorded, it did not exist yet on that day, history does not reach that far back, or the stored draft could not be read.
